The historic Australian Knitting Mill, just a stone’s throw from Melbourne CBD and opposite Richmond train station, has been revitalised by Inspire9 to offer a unique and inspiring coworking space.
Established in 1910, the AKM complex played a crucial role in supplying uniforms during World War One and underwent significant expansion between 1922 and 1925, the era that saw the rise of the ‘Golden Fleece’ and ‘Kookaburra’ brands.
Today, the AKM building is part of the Richmond Hill Heritage Overlay. Inspire9 has honoured its rich history while restoring it to its former glory.
